The power that was there in the beginning is still at work.

무(無)에서 유(有)로. 없던 것이 비로소 있게 되었다. 그것이 탄생이었다. 생명은 스스로 취한 것이 아니었다. 받은 것이었다.

Out of nothing, something. What had never been came to be. That was birth. Life was not something taken — it was something given.

탄생의 힘은 초자연마저 능가한다. 그 힘은 오늘도 살리는 쪽으로 일한다. JNS America의 이야기는 이 생명 앞에 고요히 서는 데서 시작한다.

The power of birth surpasses even the supernatural, and to this day it works in one direction — toward life. The story of JNS America begins by standing, in stillness, before this life.

II이름The Name

자연은 웅장하고 광활하다. 그리고 고귀하다. 가진 것을 모두 내어 주면서 아무것도 청하지 않는다. 고귀함은 크기에서 오지 않고 태도에서 온다는 것을 자연이 먼저 보여 준다.

Nature is grand, and it is vast. It is also noble — it gives everything it has and asks for nothing. Nobility is a matter of bearing, and nature showed it first.

JNS는 Jovian and Submission이다. Jovian은 그 웅장함과 광활함과 고귀함을 가리키는 우리의 말이다. Submission은 그 앞에 기꺼이 고개를 숙이는 일이다. 패배가 아니다. 큰 것을 알아본 사람의 품위다.

JNS stands for Jovian and Submission. Jovian is our word for that grandeur, that vastness, that nobility. Submission is the willing act of bowing before it — not defeat, but the grace of someone who has recognized what is greater.

III품The Embrace

자연은 사람을

생기를 주고, 쉬게 하고,
다시 일으킨다.

It gives us life, lets us rest,
and raises us up again.

숲은 숨을 돌려주고, 물은 목마름을 거두어 가며, 흙에서 난 것은 몸을 다시 세운다. 아침 빛과 나무 그늘과 밤의 고요. 사람에게 필요한 것은 이미 자연 안에 마련되어 있다.

The forest gives us back our breath. Water takes away our thirst. What grows from the soil rebuilds the body. Morning light, the shade of a tree, the quiet of night — what a person needs has already been provided within nature.

사람이 존엄한 까닭이 여기에 있다. 사람은 이 섭리가 돌보는 존재다.

This is where human dignity comes from. A person is someone this providence cares for.

해는 어김없이 뜬다. 계절은 순서를 바꾸지 않는다. 뿌린 것은 뿌린 대로 돌아온다. 자연의 힘과 너그러움 뒤에는 그것을 그렇게 되게 하는 질서가 있다.

The sun rises without fail. The seasons never change their order. What is sown comes back as it was sown. Behind nature's power and generosity there is an order that makes it so.

우리는 그 질서를 섭리라 부르고, 그 한가운데 있는 변하지 않는 것을 진리라 부른다. JNS America는 그 진리를 기준으로 삼고자 세워졌다.

We call that order providence, and the unchanging thing at its center we call truth. JNS America was founded to take that truth as its standard.
